If you haven't realized it yet, my approach to counseling entails taking the WHOLE person into consideration.  As a part of that dedication and commitment to you, I've spent my career developing tools and seeking out training that help you THRIVE in your life and smash the obstacles in your way.  Some of the specialized training I've received that I tap into to help my clients are Hypnotherapy and EMDR.

In addition to being a certified Heart Centered Hypnotherapist I have been trained in both Level I and Level II EMDR. Additionally, I have training in IFS (Internal Family Systems). I use these powerful tools to help clients navigate the obstacles and challenges they face that brought them in to counseling. I’ve found that these approaches to therapy allow my clients to free themselves from the stuck places they find themselves in as a result of their past experiences.  I'm always so grateful to share in how these techniques and the therapeutic process help people break through obstacles to realize their goals, dreams, embrace their happiness and realize their potential.

For me, meditation has been a big part of my personal life success and I'd love to share some tricks and tools I've learned over the years with you to help you in your own life.  Carving out time each day to sit and be still, to connect to my breath and my heart has helped me find a deeper peace in all that I do.  The impact this has had on my life has been so transformative that I wanted to share those gifts with others.  In addition to working on meditation with my counseling clients, I have also previously hosted a meditation group for about 5 years.  When I think back on that experience, I still feel humbled by the peace and transformation that my client's experienced.

“Change is not something that we should fear. Rather, it is something that we should welcome. For without change, nothing in this world would ever grow or blossom, and no one in this world would ever move forward to become the person they’re meant to be.”
— B.K.S Iyengar

In 2011, I found my way to a yoga studio and that's when I found something that had been missing in my life.  While my meditation practice helped me find my center of peace and love, my yoga practice brought that peace and love into focus in an integrated and complete way.  My yoga practice became a way for me to come in contact with the best parts of myself, at the same time.  Again, realizing that yoga is a gift meant to be share, I decided to become a yoga teacher.  In 2012, I began my journey to become a yoga teacher.  I completed my 200 hour teacher training in 2013 and couldn't imagine a life of balance that doesn't have yoga integrated into it.

In 2005, I also had the opportunity to become a Reiki Master.  At the time, I didn't realize how my work with Reiki would evolve but I was excited to become more attuned to subtle energies and how to work with them.  Over the years, I've realized how this awareness of energy has aided my work in therapy with clients.  This training has allowed me expand my awareness beyond being attentive to what my clients say and has allowed me to tune in to the mental, emotional, spiritual and physical energy involved in the work.  With this awareness, I can help my clients learn to identify these dynamics in their own life to uncover the deeper levels of healing and transformation available to THRIVE and find JOY!
